Crawlspace Services That Protect Your Home From the Ground Up

Invicta Pest Control was built by a family that knows what it means to protect a home. After we adopted two of our five children and saw the conditions they had been living in, we made a promise: no family should ever have to deal with an unhealthy living environment. That same commitment drives our crawlspace services across the Raleigh, NC area today.

Your crawlspace plays a bigger role in your home’s health than most people realize. Moisture buildup, pest activity, and poor ventilation underneath your house can lead to wood rot, mold growth, and air quality problems on every floor above. (Crawlspaces are also a common entry route for rodents — see our guide on how mice get into homes.) Our team brings 20+ years of hands-on experience, a Board Certified Entomologist, an Environmental Scientist, and a Wildlife Biologist on staff to inspect, clean out, and fully protect the space beneath your home.

Our Crawlspace Service Process

Every crawlspace job starts with a thorough inspection. Our team checks for moisture levels, standing water, pest activity, damaged insulation, and structural concerns like wood rot or sagging joists. Because we have a Board Certified Entomologist, an Environmental Scientist, and a Wildlife Biologist on staff, we catch things that most pest control companies miss.

From there, we build a plan based on what your crawlspace actually needs. That might mean a full clean-out of old insulation, debris, and animal waste, followed by dehumidifier installation and complete encapsulation. Or it might just mean targeted moisture control. We don’t push services you don’t need, and we walk you through every recommendation before we start work.

  1. First base

    Crawlspace Inspection

We start with a detailed crawlspace inspection, checking for moisture levels, standing water, pest activity, damaged vapor barriers, and signs of wood rot. Our trained experts use professional-grade moisture meters and identify issues that can affect your home's air quality, energy bills, and structural integrity.

  2. Second base

    Clean-out & Dehumidification

We remove old insulation, debris, rodent waste, and any contaminated materials from your crawlspace. Then we install high-efficiency dehumidifiers designed to keep moisture at the right level year-round. This step alone can make a real difference in musty odors, allergens, and the overall air quality inside your home.

  3. Home plate

    Full Encapsulation

Our encapsulation system seals the ground and foundation walls with heavy-duty vapor barriers, locking out ground moisture and outside humidity for good. This protects against mold, wood-destroying organisms, and pest entry while also improving your HVAC efficiency and lowering energy costs. It is the most complete solution for long-term crawlspace health.

“Invicta – by far – was the best choice for us! It was incredibly helpful for me to be able to speak with Mike, their Entomologist, to talk ‘pests and chemicals’! Their pricing is fair and scheduling was so easy.”

“We interviewed a number of pest management companies serving Cary. Mike, Liza, and their team stood out for their expertise, responsiveness, and professionalism. We opted for the Grand Slam and Termite Plan, and couldn't be happier with their service.”

“They came out to the playground/garden space of a children's nonprofit in Durham and got rid of the imported red fire ants. With five children of their own, they won't consider using any substance that would hurt children.”

“Timely and effective. They first removed a yellow jacket nest from our outdoor storage shed. One and done. They were so nice and professional that we then decided to use them as our full time pest control company.”

Crawlspace Services FAQs

Why does my crawlspace need encapsulation?

In the Raleigh area, our warm and humid climate pushes a lot of moisture up through the soil and into your crawlspace. Over time, that moisture damages wood framing, encourages mold growth, and attracts pests like termites and rodents. Encapsulation seals the crawlspace with a heavy-duty vapor barrier, cutting off that moisture at the source. It also helps with energy efficiency since up to 50% of the air you breathe on your first floor comes from below.

Do I need to leave my home during crawlspace work?

No. All crawlspace work takes place underneath your home, so you can stay inside during the entire process. Our technicians access the crawlspace through exterior or interior entry points, and you are welcome to be home and watch us work. We will let you know when we are on the way and keep you updated throughout the job.

How does moisture in my crawlspace affect the rest of my home?

Research shows that up to 50% of the air on your first floor comes from below your home. If your crawlspace has excess moisture, mold, or pest waste, that gets pulled up into your living space through what is called the stack effect. This can cause musty odors, increased allergies, higher humidity indoors, and over time can lead to wood rot in your floor joists and subflooring.

How soon can you schedule a crawlspace inspection?

We typically get out for inspections the same day or within a day or two, depending on our schedule. If you notice standing water, strong odors, or sagging floors, let us know and we will prioritize your appointment. Just give us a call at 984-300-0117 and we will get something on the books.

Can I send you pictures of my crawlspace for an estimate?

Yes. If you can safely take pictures of your crawlspace, send them our way and our team can give you a general idea of what you are dealing with before we even come out. It helps us plan ahead and sometimes saves a trip. You can text photos to us or email them to info@invictapest.com and we will get back to you quickly.
